Jyldyz Asanakunova is a Kyrgyz artisan known for her way with felt. She was born in 1971, and in 1993 graduated from the Tynystanov University in Karakol, Kyrgyz Republic.

Since the mid-1990s, Jyldyz has focused on developing the Non-Governmental Organization, Altyn Oimok, which produces and sells felt craft products including rugs and yurts. To this end, she attended a Georgetown University program "Management and Leadership of NGOs" in Washington, D.C. and an Aid to Artisan program on marketing felt goods in Farmington, CT (1997). She has also traveled to England to demonstrate Kyrgyz felt traditions and build trade relations. Altyn Oimok is a member of the Central Asian Crafts Support Association.

In addition to her NGO work, Jyldyz has served as designer at the Center for Development of Traditional and Contemporary Culture "Kyrgyz Style." She has also participated in numerous national and regional craft exhibitions and fairs.
