BABAJANOV Sabitjan |
Sabitjan Babajanov is a celebrated Central Asian artist of
international standing. While born in the Uigur town of Kuldja, China in 1941, he
graduated from the Kyrgyz State Art College in 1963. Over the next years, Sabitijan
participated in union, national, and international exhibitions. In 1986, he became a
member of the Artists' Union of the Kyrgyz Republic. From 1979 to 2001, he displayed his
work in 11 solo exhibitions throughout Central Asia.
In 1993, Sabitijan was awarded the title "Honored Art Worker of the Kyrgyz
Republic," and in 1998, he joined the California International Academy of Sciences,
Industry, Education, and Arts (USA).
Sabitjan's art can be seen at the State Oriental Arts Museum in Moscow, Russia; the
Kyrgyz State Museum of Fine Art, The State Historical Museum of the Kyrgyz Republic, and
the M.V. Frunze Museum in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic; various provincial museums; and
private collections in the Kyrgyz Republic and other CIS countries, USA, Germany, Canada,
France, Italy, Turkey, Iran, Japan, and Great Britain. |
