Meldekhan Kasymbek is an artist and
teacher from Kazakhstan. He was born in 1954, and he
graduated from Gogul Art School in Almaty, Kazakhstan in 1973. He continued his education
in painting at the State Art Institute in Moscow, Russia. Meldekhan became a member the
Artists' Union of Kazakhstan in 1988, and today, he serves on its managing committee. In
1986, he joined the teaching faculty of the Tansykbaev Art College in Almaty.
While still in school, Meldekhan began participating in national and international
exhibitions and creative symposiums. Just some of these include events in Moscow (1988,
1989, 2001); Istanbul, Turkey (1994); Lisbon, Portugal (1998); and Anataly and Ankara,
Turkey (2000, 2001). Meldekhan has also displayed his works at solo shows in Almaty (1991,
1996, 1998) and in Ankara (2000).
Meldekhan's works can be found in art museums in Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic,
as well as in private collections in Turkey, France, Germany, USA, South Korea, and
Portugal.
