Ojet
Nusupbaev has for over 30 years dedicated his life to art. Born in 1942 in Almaty,
Kazakhstan, he graduated from the Kyrgyz State Art College in 1970 with a degree in
Decorative Arts. Until
1990, Ojet worked at the Department of Culture's regional art studio in the Jambyl
oblast. During this 20-year period, he refined his painting technique and began working
with leather. In 1981, Ojet won first prize at a national art and decoration show and was
awarded the title "Laureate of Almaty."
In 1990, Ojet became a private
painter, and has since 2001 been a member of the Painters' Union of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Throughout his career, he has participated in national and union art exhibitions. Today,
many of his works can be found in private collections in Turkey, China, Japan, and
Germany. |
