SYDYKBEKOVA  Ainur

Ainur Sydykbekova is a Kyrgyz painter and fashion designer who enjoys pushing the borders of multimedia creation. Born in 1969 in Bishkek, she graduated from the Kyrgyz State Art College in 1989. She completed her education at the Repin Institute of Architecture, Sculpture, and Painting in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1994.

She has participated in several regional and international exhibitions in the Kyrgyz Republic, Italy, and France. She received high praise at the First International Fashion Design Competition in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (2000) and won first prize at the "Caravan Style 2002" fashion contest in Bishkek (2002).

Ainur believes that through her paintings and fashions she can express herself and give a new, bold voice to her uniqueness. She is not interesting in following norms and challenges societal taboos, such as nudity and the human form.
