Victor
Syrnev is one of the most original jewelry designers and artists in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Born in 1942 in Ekaterinburg, Russia, he moved to Bishkek in 1966 after completing his
studies in artistic design and working several years as a professional jeweler. Since 1970
he has been a private artist. He joined the Artists' Union of the Kyrgyz Republic in
1974, and in 1995, became a member of the International Society of Jewelry and Art in
Hanau, Germany. Among his
many achievements are the Silver Medal from the USSR Academy of Arts (1992), the Grand
Prize of Asia (1989), and special recognition at the Festival of Fashion in Estonia (1988)
and at the Quadrennial of Applied Arts in Erfurt, Germany (1986).
Victor has participated in over
100 solo and group exhibitions worldwide. His works can be seen in many museums, including
the Kremlin Museum and the Tsaritsino Museum of Decorative Art in Moscow, Russia; the
Museum of Jewelry in Pforzheim, Germany; the Goldschmidthaus Museum in Hanau, Germany; and
the Kyrgyz National Museum of Creative Art and the Kyrgyz State Historical Museum in
Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. |
