Zhanyshbek
Zhamurzaev is an active artist, having displayed his works throughout Central Asia and
beyond for 15 years. He was born in 1966 in the Kyrgyz Republic. In 1987, he graduated
from the Tashkent Polytechnic Secondary School and in 1993, he joined the Artists' Union
of the Kyrgyz Republic. Zhanyshbek
has participated in many national, regional, and international exhibitions. Just some
include "Days of the USSR," an exhibition of Kyrgyz artists in Reykjavik, Iceland
(1988); "Our Contemporary," an exhibition of young Kyrgyz artists in Moscow, Russia
(1990); the international exhibition "Asia Art" in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (1997); an
exhibition of Kyrgyz artists at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium (1999); and
"Kyrgyz Landscapes" in Luxembourg (2002).
In addition to exhibitions,
Zhanyshbek has lent his artistic talents to the interior design of several Kyrgyz museums,
including the Manas Museum in Talas to commemorate the 1000th year anniversary
of the epic (1993-1995), the A. Tokombaev Museum in Bishkek (1996), and a new museum in
Osh (2000).
Zhanyshbek's works can be found
in private collections in Turkey, Great Britain, Belgium, and throughout the CIS.
